Lesley Tham

Ms Lesley Tham is a  Jazz/pop Piano Teacher at MW Fine Arts Academy (MWFAA).

 

Besides attaining ABRSM Grade 8 in piano and theory, Grade 5 Yamaha Electone, Lesley has achieved a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston USA.

 

During her studies in America, Lesley studied extensive jazz piano and theory with various  great Berklee Jazz teachers including Ray Santisi, Bob Winter and  Alex Elin. She immersed herself in the style of swing, bebop and music arrangement for Jazz bands. 

 

Upon graduating, Lesley worked in various music schools in San Francisco Bay area.   She worked for Sherman Clay in San Francisco, Fiat music in Pinole California and Bronstein Music in South San Francisco.

 

Back in Singapore, Lesley worked at Yamaha Contempo Piano section then later, at Methodist School of Music.  Lesley has a great passion for Jazz music and is looking forward to share her knowledge with students who has the same passion.

 

Lesley has also a heart to teach students with special needs.  She has taught children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and senior citizens who between 85 and 95 years of age.
